About the Fraternitas Borealis

The blood-glow is an uninterrupted, profoundly disturbing access of awe. A dark atmosphere throbs and ferments within hidden hovels. Wild, raucous cries blend with the crashing of storms. Being speaks in a demonic voice out of the murky twilight; but the glowing crimson of a winter evening is encircling the world, and a blazing fire directs its light upon the pursuing powers. The flame and smoke of the hearth fire shudder in the holy night before the savage force of the winds.
(Ludwig Klages)

Today the F.B., comprised of men and women, works internationally under its German 'Hochmeister' David Beth.
Although we do not want to explain the history of the order at this point, we will however state some interesting facts. This group was formed in Germany in the later half of the 19th century. The founders were, apart from being deeply involved in the pagan/heathen and esoteric/occult traditions (of Germany), also very close to what is known as Naturphilosophie and Lebensphilosophie. It will suffice for our purpose to mention the close connection of the Order to Ludwig Klages, Alfred Schuler and the Cosmic Circle (Kosmiker-Kreis). We also know of a possible direct connection to C.G. Jung through people from the boheme 'Schwabing-Ascona' axis. The initiates of the F.B. have never openly discussed their work, nor have they ever published anything outside the organization. For good reason, as their idea of occult and magical work was closely tied in with secrecy and arcana. New initiates were only 'recruited' by inviting them and never by advertising for members. This secrecy became even more important after the occult and magical scene, especially in its pagan and volkish shape, became more and more obsessed with profane physical ideas of race which was never the idea or focus of the F.B.. Far from being a typical volkish organization, the F.B. was never interested in defining or creating a physical master race through dividing into physical races or other material things. In the beginning stages of the work in the F.B.

"…only the Idea must be our true homeland. It is not being born in the same country, speaking the same language or belonging to the same racial stock that matters; rather, sharing the same Idea must be the factor that unites us and differentiates us from everybody else." (Julius Evola)

Instead it was and is amongst other things concerned with the metaphysical and universal creation of an 'Übermensch' utilizing the occult, magical and initiatic tools which had been handed down to their initiates via the hyperborean and thus mythical northern tradition. It was and is a universal gnostic magical system. 'Hyperboreans' as defined in the F.B. system are a mental 'race' of Übermenschen, or attained adepts, independent of profane racial heritage such as 'Aryan' or 'Slavic' etc. In fact members of the Order are of a very diverse racial background united in an aristocracy of the soul and spirit. Anyone who has the potential to connect to and utilize the current will be able to work within the F.B. and bring to full radiation the mystical Blutleuchte (blood-lamp) within himself. A central mystical force behind all our work is what the philosopher and metaphysicist Ludwig Klages has so adequately termed the 'kosmogonic eros', the world-creating eros that has so little to do with sentimental love or profane eroticism. Once we are able to connect to this Eros Cosmogonos,

"then we are the true Dionysian man who lives his dream-images. Rays of light stream forth from his soul into the world, and whoever wanders into his radiant sphere shines with his love." (Ludwig Klages)
